0016 The face of Borne's "Little Seres"

When we were organising the photoshoot for our lookbook the key part was finding the right face to represent Borne, the search for our "Borne girl" became an obsession!

The only asset we were looking for was some long blonde hair to throw around...

However when we met Kat we immediately knew that we had found our girl and we are so happy that she could be the face of our first collection!

Some of you may have seen this image before but this for us encompasses everything about our "Little Seres", feminine but with a masculine influence, smart but comfortable, simple but intricately detailed...

Flicking through some of the shots of the shows from New York and London we were delighted to see that Kat has had a busy couple of weeks!! Marc Jacobs, Alexander Wang, Richard Nicoll and Topshop Unique amongst others.... Go Kat!!

The other face of the collection will be our lookbook and we got a beautiful surprise this week when the first sample dropped through the letterbox hot off the press!

We also have an electronic version that we would love to share with you, so if you would like a copy then please send us your email address and we will make sure you are on the mailing list to receive it - please send all requests to follow@borne.co.uk

0015 A little Passarel.la in the heart of Borne

Borne by Elise Berger has many origins, but one place that will always be at its heart is the Barrio Born in Barcelona.

This maze of old streets bursting with the new and inspirational is where you can best feel the pulse of the city, and over the years it has had a great influence on us and is where our "Little Seres" took shape.

Originally a site for jousting in medieval times, the name comes from the old verb "bornear" (now "tornear") which means to twist or to turn, just as Elise does with elements of classic menswear tailoring that get spun into new silhouettes.

So when we were asked to take part in the "Born a.m." fashion show last Thursday we were delighted to introduce our Borne to Barcelona. The show took place along the length of the Passeig del Born, with nine other emerging designers from the area showcasing their collections.

We had a fantastic night, with even the "Junior Creative Director" getting on stage at the end and would like to say muchas gracias to all the helped to organise the show, but particularly to PoloPelo for working their magic on the hair and make-up.

Lookbooks are almost printed and website almost built, lots more to come from us over the next couple of weeks - keep your eyes peeled!
